APO NextGen: Finding the Voices of Tomorrow

Al will be participating in The American Pops Orchestra’s NextGen Vocal Competition which, due to the complications surrounding COVID-19, will now be livestreamed virtually! All of the music sang in this competition had to be written prior to 1970; Round 1 will consist of 32-bar cuts and Round 2, if voted through, consists of a 1.5 minute cut of a song. The competition will start on Friday, April 24th!

Al auditioned for APO’s NextGen back in January at JMU, where he sang a brand new cut he selected just for the audition. After being selected as a finalist, he had to record two video cuts of his selections, both of which are classic jazz standards that you’ll be sure to love.
